Pune, 22nd August 2024: The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has announced the postponement of the Civil Services Examination via X (formerly Twitter).

MPSC’s tweet stated: “During the commission meeting, it was decided to delay the Maharashtra Gazetted Civil Services Combined Preliminary Examination 2024, which was originally scheduled for 25th August 2024. A new date will be shared soon.”

This announcement followed a protest by aspirants on Tuesday (20th August) along Lal Bahadur Shastri Road in Navi Peth, Pune. The demonstration was triggered by an MPSC notice regarding the preliminary examination set for 25th August 2024.

The demonstrators expressed their dissatisfaction with the MPSC’s decision to remove 258 positions in the agriculture department from the upcoming exam. They claimed to have been requesting the inclusion of these positions for the last three months, but their appeals were overlooked.
