Pune has the second highest number of locations after Mumbai where the MPCB has finalised 25 locations to monitor noise levels. According to the officials, the officials of the firm have been tasked to monitor noise levels on September 19, 20, 22, 25 and 28 and the monitoring will be done round the clock on these days. The firm will conduct the exercise as per the MPCB norms and the MPCB officials will take appropriate action once the report is submitted.

It may be noted that the district collector has already relaxed norms for six days during the ganesh festival and the mandals are allowed to play loudspeakers till midnight during these days. The officials are going to have a tough task on the immersion day when loudspeakers are used all across the cities by the ganesh mandals during the procession.
