Mobile Charging Facilities Introduced At Safdarjung Hospital For Patients And Attendants
Pune, 5th July 2024: Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, the second busiest hospital after All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), has introduced mobile charging facilities for patients and their attendants. This initiative, launched by the Central Health Ministry, addresses the inconvenience faced by over 25,000 daily visitors, including more than 10,000 patients who attend the Outpatient Department (OPD). The newly installed charging points in various blocks of the hospital aim to ensure that everyone can keep their mobile devices charged during their hospital visits.
Safdarjung Hospital, recognized for its high patient volume, witnesses daily visits from over 10,000 patients, each typically accompanied by one or two attendants. This influx results in approximately 25,000 people commuting to the hospital every day. Despite its importance, the hospital previously lacked adequate mobile charging facilities, causing significant inconvenience to patients and attendants who rely heavily on their mobile phones for communication and accessing information.
To mitigate this issue, the Central Health Ministry has equipped various blocks of Safdarjung Hospital, including the OPD block, heart command, and emergency block, with mobile charging points. These charging stations come with cables, allowing patients and attendants to charge their phones even if they do not have their own chargers. The facility, which became operational just a day ago, promises to enhance the overall experience for visitors by ensuring they can stay connected without worrying about battery life.
The addition of these charging points reflects a broader effort by the hospital administration to improve patient services and amenities. By addressing a common yet critical need, Safdarjung Hospital is setting a precedent for other healthcare institutions to follow. The initiative has been welcomed by both patients and their families, who now have one less concern during their hospital visits.
