Mittal Brothers join hands to support Maharashtra Government’s mega tree plantation drive 

Pune, Recently : The Maharashtra state government launched a massive tree plantation drive to help boost the shrinking green cover across the state on July 1. As part of this noble cause, about 2 crore saplings were planted across the state, including Pune. Various companies and institutions, people groups and nature conservation enthusiasts from across the city turned up in large numbers to participate in the drive from their respective areas.  

To support the government’s initiative to plant 2 crore trees in one single day, the mega tree plantation drive was carried out by Mittal Brothers, Pune’s leading construction and realty company. Over 2,000 saplings were planted by Pawan Mittal and Dilip Mittal, Directors, Mittal Brothers, at one of their premier housing projects, High Mont, in Hinjawadi.The idea was initatiated by the Mittals in the wake of massive urbanisation, development and changing climatic conditions in the city and the state as a whole. 

To support the cause, over 5,000 IT professionals from many of city’s well-known IT companies including Infosys – which is right adjacent to the project – along with SQS, Globent, Wipro, Synechron, Auqatech, L&T and Ruby Hall Clinic, Hinjewadi, participated in the drive by the Mittals with immense zeal. This was the first such initiative by the Mittal Group, and following the humongous response and success, the duo plan to carry out many more such drives in all their projects across the city as a part of their contribution towards the environment in the coming months.  

Besides tree plantation, the group has also succesfully implemented rainwater harvesting in all their housing projects in Pune. “Keeping in mind the fast diminishing green cover and growing water scarcity in the city, it was our utmost concern to plant as many trees as possible along with providing rainwater harvesting solutions in each of our housing societies, so that the families stay well-eqipped to tackle the changing climatic conditions as well as water scarcity issues during the dry months,” said Pawan Mittal.
