Yerwada, 31st May 2024: The incident of a minor boy crashing a Porsche car and killing two people in Pune’s Kalyaninagar area continues to unravel with new developments each day. The Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) has now granted permission to Pune Police to interrogate the minor accused.

Pune Police had requested the Juvenile Justice Board for permission to interrogate the minor due to his age. The Board has allowed the interrogation, granting Pune Police a two-hour window to question the accused tomorrow. The minor driver is currently held in an observation home until June 5.

Meanwhile, the minor’s father and grandfather, arrested for allowing him to drink liquor and drive car, have been remanded in judicial custody for 14 days by the Pune District Court. Additionally, Dr. Ajay Taware, Dr. Shrihari Halnor, and peon Atul Ghatakamble of Sassoon Hospital are in police custody until June 5, accused of tampering with the minor’s blood sample.

The investigation has revealed that the minor’s mother is also involved. She allegedly provided her own blood to Sassoon Hospital to replace her son’s blood samples. Dr. Halnor is reported to have facilitated this swap. Following the arrests of Dr. Taware and Dr. Halnor, the mother has gone missing, and police are actively searching for her.

In response to the mishandling of the case, Dr. Vinayak Kale, dean of BJ Government Medical College and Sassoon Hospital, has been placed on compulsory leave. He is accused of neglecting the seriousness of the matter in his capacity as the head of the institution.
