Minister Mohol Charts Path for Pune Airport and New Airports Development in Maharashtra

Pune, 5th July 2024: Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, highlighted progress in discussions aimed at enhancing airport infrastructure across Maharashtra. He recently engaged in productive talks with Sanjeev Kumar, Chairman of the Airports Authority of India (AAI), focusing on the development of multiple airports, including Pune Airport.

Mohol emphasized that AAI is poised to commence Obstacle Limitation Surfaces (OLS) Survey work promptly, following necessary permissions from the Defence Ministry for runway expansion at Pune Airport. Discussions centered on ensuring a smooth process for runway expansion and outlining future steps.

Additionally, Mohol sought detailed updates on proposals and addressed delays concerning the development of new airports in locations like Purandar, Solapur, and Akola. He instructed comprehensive actions to expedite these projects.

“The discussions with AAI Chairman Sanjeev Kumar were constructive, aiming to accelerate airport development across Maharashtra,” Mohol stated.
