Mega Vaccination Drive In Pune City To Achieve 100 Percent Vaccination

Pune, 30th November 2021: Bajaj Finserv Limited companies comprising Bajaj Finance Limited, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company Limited and Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company Limited, in collaboration with Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will conduct a Mega Vaccination drive from 6th-9th December and 13th-16th of December 2021. 

The drive will be spread across 187 Covid Vaccination Centres (CVC) covering 15 wards of Pune including Aundh-Baner, Bhawani Peth, Bibwewadi, Dhankwadi- Sahakarnagar, Dhole Patil Road, Hadapsar, Kasba-Vishrambaugwada, Kondhwa – Yewalewadi, Kothrud-Bavdhan, Nagar Road – Vadgaonsheri, Shivajinagar – Ghole Road, Sinhagad Road, Wanawadi – Ramtekadi, Warje-Karve Nagar and Yerwada Kalas Dhanori.

 As a part of its continued efforts in supporting state administration and district authorities towards vaccinating residents of Pune, Bajaj Group comprising Bajaj Finserv Limited companies and Bajaj Auto Limited had earlier partnered with PMC, PCMC and Zilla Parishad to conduct mega vaccination drives across urban and rural Pune areas.

The Group has so far donated over 8 lakh COVID-19 vaccine and 9 lakh syringes and participated in mass mobilisation efforts and awareness campaigns to drive maximum inoculation of residents. 

This initiative is a part of the ongoing efforts by the government to achieve 100 percent COVID-19 vaccination by the end of December 2021.

To support the 100 percent vaccination objective, Bajaj Finance Limited, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company Limited and Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company Limited have provided 3 lakh doses of Covishield vaccine to Pune Municipal Corporation for conducting this mega vaccination drive. 

 

Commenting on the initiative Ajay Sathe, CSR Head, Bajaj Finserv Limited said, “As a part of our ongoing CSR initiative, we have been conducting various vaccination drives around urban and rural Pune to support the state government authorities with their immunization efforts. Now our target is to assist the authorities in vaccinating the remaining urban population of Pune. The PMC team has been working tirelessly to vaccinate the city and we are happy that together we are able to accelerate that work.”

Bajaj Group has committed Rs 300 crore since the start of the pandemic to support the fight against COVID-19. The support was utilised to alleviate the immediate on-ground challenges as well as to build capacity and resources. In addition to the vaccine doses, the Group has facilitated the installation of 12 oxygen plants to provide more than 5,000 LPM of oxygen supply to rural and urban hospitals, along with respiratory support equipment like oxygen concentrators, ventilators, and BiPaps, to help augment their capacity in treating COVID-19 patients. 

The Bajaj Group has also worked with the Government, local administration and a network of more than 200 NGO partners to support various projects to ensure that the desired help and support was extended to those who needed the most including immediate food relief to stranded migrants; upgradation of urban and rural healthcare facilities; provision of key healthcare devices; and livelihood support for returned migrants.
