Pune: Massive Fire Ravages Kalyaninagar IT Park, Businesses Disrupted

Pune, 29th May 2023: In a devastating turn of events, a fierce fire erupted today in an office building Marisoft Kalyaninagar in Kalyaninagar area of Pune. The incident has led to a state of panic as numerous employees find themselves trapped inside, anxiously awaiting the arrival of the fire brigade. The fire was first reported at 11:25 AM, and its rapid spread has only exacerbated the situation. Astonishingly, this marks the third fire incident to be reported in Pune today alone.
Notably, this incident comes as a distressing déjà vu for the city’s IT sector, as it is the second such occurrence in a matter of weeks. Just earlier this month, a similar fire wreaked havoc in Viman Nagar, compelling businesses to halt their operations. The consequential disruption has had severe financial repercussions, with companies incurring substantial losses, being burdened by continued rental expenses, and being prohibited from utilizing their office premises.
One office owner, while speaking with Punekar News, expressed the magnitude of their misfortune. “We are enduring immense losses as we are compelled to bear the financial burden of rent for premises we are unable to occupy. Authorities have advised us to operate remotely from home, but this has significantly hampered our business operations,” they lamented.
The cause behind this alarming incident is yet to be ascertained, leaving authorities and stakeholders alike grappling with concerns regarding safety measures and infrastructure.
