Mango Mania In Pune: 2,500 Children Participate In Mango-Eating Competition
Pune, 23rd April 2023: The air was ripe with the sweet aroma of mangoes, and the atmosphere was vibrant with laughter and joy. Over 2,500 children from various social institutions, including the children of labourers from the eastern part of the city, gathered at Sant Namdev Chowk in Raviwar Peth on Sunday to participate in a mango-eating competition organized by Pralhad Gawli Mitra Parivar.
The underprivileged children were provided with the opportunity to enjoy the deliciousness of the king of fruits, mangoes. The competition was graced by the presence of esteemed personalities such as Guardian Minister of Pune Chandrakant Patil, Former MLA Deepak Paigude, MNS General Secretary Ajay Shinde, Vasant More, and actor Ramesh Pardeshi, among others.
The children competed to eat the juicy mangoes, teasing each other with playful laughter. Dressed as Haryana’s famous Mahabali Hanuman, actors enlivened the event for the children.
Pitaya Bhai himself, the actor Ramesh Pardeshi from Mulshi Pattern, participated in the competition and ate four mangoes in a minute, inspiring and encouraging the children with his enthusiasm.
Pralhad Gawli, the organizer of the event, said, “The sweetness of mangoes is something that every child should enjoy, regardless of their background. This initiative was taken to provide underprivileged children with the joy of eating mangoes on hot summer days.”
In the end, all the children, hands and mouths full of mangoes, left with happy memories and full bellies.
