Pune – A 29-year-old man working as chef in Australia has filed a case against his wife, who claims to be a fashion designer, and in-laws for allegedly demanding Rs 25 lakhs extortion to settle a harassment case filed by the woman last year.

In August 2016, when she was in Australia, she barged into Sunny’s office twice in drunken state and had created ruckus. “She asked for Rs 25 lakhs or also threatened finish of my family members and my career in Australia. She returned to India and lodged an FIR (498A IPC) against me and my family members with Dattawadi police station in September 2016. She and her family members started demanding Rs 25 lakhs and divorce to settle the case. After this we learnt about her previous marriage in 2004 and that she had got bogus educational certificates. She claims to be 12th pass and has done certificate course in Fashion designing and hair style. The Bombay High Court has granted stay on the FIR against us”, Sunny said.
