Man Abducted From Pune-Ahmednagar Highway, Probe On

Pune 20th Sept 2023: The Pune City Police have booked 10 unidentified men for allegedly abducting a pickup van driver from Pune-Ahmednagar Highway on Monday. The incident came to light after an associate of the victim who is an eyewitness of the crime reached out to police to lodge a complaint in the matter.

According to the police, the victim is a resident of a village in Jalna district and he was abducted from near Jagtap Dairy at around 1:40 am on Monday. The accused allegedly stopped his pick up van claiming that fuel is leaking from his fuel tank and as the vehicle stopped more accused appeared in a car. The driver was abducted and taken into the car towards Ahmednagar. The complainant who was present in the van at the time of incident rushed to the Loni Kand police station to lodge a complaint in the matter.

The police have lodged a case in the matter and have started searching for the victim. The victim’s family has been contacted and the investigation team is working on possible leads and accordingly some police officials have been dispatched to several locations to conduct investigation in the matter. According to police, the van driver was going towards Katraj from Ahmednagar to pick up some goods which were supposed to be delivered to Nashik at the time of incident.
