Major Drug Bust In Baner Area: Pune Crime Branch Arrests Foreign National With Cocaine Worth Rs 4.5 Lakh

Baner, 11th May 2023: The anti-narcotics cell-1 of the Pune Crime Branch has successfully apprehended a 43-year-old foreign national involved in drug trafficking in the Baner area.

The suspect was found in possession of 22 grams of cocaine worth Rs 4.5 lakh. A two-wheeler worth Rs 50,000, four mobile phones worth Rs 17,000 and Rs 54,500 cash were also seized during the operation.

Acting on a tip-off received by policemen Pandurang Pawar and Sachin Malwe, the patrolling anti-narcotics squad discovered that the foreign national was planning to sell cocaine on the road near Yuthika society in Baner. Swift action was taken as a police team set up a trap and apprehended the suspect.

An FIR has been registered at Chatushringi police station against the accused Trevor Benjamin Noah, a citizen of South Africa, who resides at Sus Road. He has been charged for offences under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.

This successful operation was carried out under the guidance of DCP (Crime) Amol Zende, ACP Sunil Pawar and Senior Police Inspector Vinayak Gaikwad. The team included Assistant Police Inspector Laxman Dhengle, Shailja Jankar, and police personnel Manoj Kumar Salunke, Maruti Pardhi, Praveen Uttekar, Vishal Dalvi, Pandurang Pawar, Sandeep Shirke, Sujit Wadekar, Dnyaneshwar Ghorpade, Rahul Joshi, Sachin Malwe, Nitesh Jadhav, Rehana Shaikh, Vishal Shinde and Yogesh Mohite.
