Pune, 4th July 2024: Mahindra, renowned for its powerful SUVs such as the Scorpio and XUV700, has recently removed its 7-seater vehicle, the Marazzo, from its official website. This move suggests the discontinuation of the vehicle, which was known to compete directly with Maruti Ertiga and Kia Carens. The Marazzo’s declining sales over the past year, with only 16 units sold in May 2024, prompted this decision.

Mahindra, a leader in the Indian SUV market, has officially removed the Marazzo MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) from its website. Offered with a seven-seater option, the Marazzo faced dwindling sales, leading to its discontinuation. Only 16 units were sold in May 2024, following similar low sales in previous months: 20 units in April, 51 units each in March and February, and just 32 units in January 2024.

The Mahindra Marazzo was powered by a robust 1.5-liter turbo diesel engine, producing 121 BHP and 300 Nm of torque. It featured a six-speed gearbox, providing a strong performance for an MPV.

The Marazzo was equipped with several key features, making it a competitive option in the MPV segment. These included rear AC vents, captain seats in the second row, one-touch tumble, rear sun blinds, steering controls, dual-tone interiors, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), airbags, keyless entry, and a seven-inch infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The vehicle was built on a ladder frame chassis, ensuring durability and strength.

The Marazzo’s discontinuation marks the end of a vehicle that provided a strong alternative to other popular seven-seaters like the Maruti Ertiga and Kia Carens. Despite its features and robust engine, the Marazzo struggled to maintain sales momentum in a highly competitive market.

Mahindra’s decision to remove the Marazzo reflects its strategy to focus on more popular and profitable models within its lineup. For those seeking alternatives, the Maruti Ertiga and Kia Carens remain strong contenders in the seven-seater MPV segment.
