Maharashtra: Thousands of fake registration for pre-matric scholarship; A report to be sent to the state government soon
Pune, 1 March 2021: A special investigation team sent by the Minority and adult education directorate observed thousands of fake registration of the students for the pre-metric scholarship by the schools. A detailed report has been made by the team and will be submitted to the state government soon.
According to the team inspection, thousands of fake registration have been done, and the schools have registered nearly 5836 students from out of Maharashtra. It includes students from Uttar Pradesh, Jammu, and Kashmir, Haryana, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Mizoram, Bihar, etc. Nearly 14,353 fake applications have been found in Maharashtra. It also includes applications with fake Adhar IDs and the wrong address.
The then director, Minority and adult education directorate, Sunil Chauhan, has said that all these fake applications have been canceled.
