Maharashtra: Government Issues Guidelines For Celebrating Ramzan Eid With These Restrictions

Pune, 12th May 2021: Considering the Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra, the State Government imposed various strict measures under ‘break the chain’ mission from April 13.

Under these measures, the state is reeling under curfew and no social, religious, cultural and political programmes are allowed. The state made a few changes in its restrictions on April 29, but with highly infectious Covid -19 cases, the state under the April 13 notification has continued with the strict lockdown.

Following are the guidelines  

1. Not to gather for iftar, namaz and taraweeh in the masjid or at public places. The community members can celebrate it at their respective homes

2. Not to gather for namaz at the masjid’s open place

3. Everyone should follow the shopping guidelines issued by the respective municipal corporation

4. No stalls are allowed on the road at night as the state has imposed 144 section of the Indian penal code. Citizens should not roam on the streets unnecessarily

5. No processions on the occasion of Ramzan Eid

6. All the Muslim leaders, social activists, political leaders and NGOs should appeal to the community to celebrate the festival in a simple manner

7. Everyone should strictly follow the social distancing norms, use of mask and sanitizers
