Maharashtra Government Approves Establishment of 11 New D. Pharmacy Institutes

 Mumbai 30th June  2023: In a recent development, the Maharashtra government has issued a Government Resolution (GR) announcing the establishment of 11 new D. Pharmacy institutes for the upcoming academic year 2023-24. These institutes will offer courses in pharmaceutical sciences and will be affiliated with the State Board of Technical Education.

The GR, which comes after approval from the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), reveals that these institutes will be situated in various districts across Maharashtra, including Jalgaon, Nagpur, Nashik, Ahmednagar, Sindhudurg, and Mumbai.

These newly approved institutes are set to be non-aided and autonomous, providing a diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm) program. With an intake capacity of 60 students each, they aim to play a pivotal role in offering quality education in the field of pharmaceutical sciences.

Among the institutes listed in the GR are D.B.Patil College of Pharmacy in Jalgaon, Dnyandeep College of Pharmacy in Nagpur, SSK College of Pharmacy in Nashik, Shri Siddhivinayak Institute of Pharmacy in Ahmednagar, and Sindhudurg Education Society’s College of Pharmacy in Sindhudurg.

The establishment of these institutes aligns with the government’s vision to promote education and research in the pharmaceutical sector. It is expected to provide greater opportunities for aspiring students while contributing to the overall growth and development of the state.

The GR emphasizes the significance of these institutes, particularly in terms of infrastructure, faculty, and curriculum. It underscores the need for strict adherence to guidelines set by the PCI and the State Board of Technical Education to ensure the delivery of high-quality education.
