Maharashtra: Explosion in Beed Mosque Allegedly Caused by Gelatin Sticks, Two Arrested

Beed, 30th March 2025: A blast inside a mosque in Maharashtra’s Beed district has sparked tension in the area. According to police officials, the explosion, which occurred at around 2:30 am in Ardhmasla village of Georai tehsil, was allegedly caused by gelatin sticks. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Authorities stated that the explosion caused significant damage to the mosque’s interior. Following an initial investigation, two suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Heavy Security Deployed in Village
In response to the blast, police have strengthened security arrangements in the village to maintain law and order. Officials revealed that an unidentified individual entered the mosque from the rear and allegedly planted the explosive material. The blast occurred shortly after.
Village Pradhan Alerts Police
The incident came to light when the village Pradhan informed the Talwara police at around 4 am. Upon receiving the report, Beed Superintendent of Police Navneet Kanwat, along with senior officers, rushed to the scene. A forensic team and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) were also deployed for further examination.
Police Urge Public to Avoid Rumors
Superintendent of Police Navneet Kanwat confirmed the arrest of two suspects and assured strict legal action against them. He urged residents not to spread rumors and to cooperate with law enforcement authorities in maintaining peace in the area.
Police continue to investigate the motive behind the explosion and are working to ensure the safety of the local community.
