Pune, 24th October 2024: The Sambhaji Brigade has decided to end its alliance with the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray Group) after the Shiv Sena leadership failed to fulfill its promise of allocating four to five seats from its quota for the upcoming assembly elections. The Sambhaji Brigade has now announced plans to contest 50 assembly seats independently.

The decision was made public during a press conference held on Wednesday, 23rd October, by Sambhaji Brigade President Adv. Manoj Akhare, Chief Spokesperson Gangadhar Banbare, Vice President Abhimanyu Pawar, and State Organizer Santosh Shinde.

Two years ago, the Sambhaji Brigade and Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray Group) formed an alliance, with the Brigade campaigning for the Shiv Sena and the Mahavikas Aghadi in the lead-up to the Lok Sabha elections of May 2024, despite not securing any seats. After the election, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray had promised to allocate at least four to five seats to the Sambhaji Brigade from Shiv Sena’s quota in the Legislative Assembly.

However, the Sambhaji Brigade was reportedly not given the seats or an honorable position in the seat allocation process, leading to the decision to sever ties with the Shiv Sena and exit the Mahavikas Aghadi alliance.

The Sambhaji Brigade plans to contest 50 seats across West Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Marathwada, and North Maharashtra. The names of the candidates are expected to be announced within the next two to three days.

Several key officials, including District President Chandrasekhar Ghadge, State Co-organizer Manoj Kumar Gaikwad, City President Avinash Mohite, and Vice President Jyotiba Narwade, were also present during the announcement.
