Maharashtra Elections: 333 Model Code Violations Reported and Addressed Through ‘C-Vigil’ App In Pune District

Pune, 26th October 2024: Action has been taken on 333 complaints regarding violations of the model code of conduct on the ‘C-Vigil’ app in the district, related to the upcoming assembly elections. District Collector and District Election Officer Dr. Suhas Diwase reported that 301 complaints were processed within the first 100 minutes.

To address violations of the code of conduct during the election period, voters and citizens have been provided with the facility to report incidents directly to the Election Commission. The Election Commission of India has developed the ‘C-Vigil’ app for this purpose. Complaints submitted through the app receive prompt attention, with actions initiated within 100 minutes.

A total of 352 complaints have been filed by citizens in the district via the app, with actions taken on 333 of them. The complaints processed include: 5 in Ambegaon assembly constituency, 12 in Baramati, 1 in Bhosari, 6 in Chinchwad, 4 in Daund, 3 in Hadapsar, 1 in Indapur, 3 in Junnar, 28 in Kasba Peth, 5 in Khadakwasla, 6 in Maval, 61 in Parvati, 2 in Pimpri, 20 in Pune Cantonment, 7 in Shivajinagar, and 137 complaints from Vadgaon Sheri assembly constituency.

The ‘C-Vigil’ app is available for download on Android and iOS devices. To report a violation, users simply need to open the app, select the type of violation, and upload the incident details, including location, time, and supporting photos or videos. The identity of the complainant is kept confidential to encourage reporting.
