Maharashtra Day Absenteeism: 2,300 Pune Municipal Corporation Employees To Face Consequences
Pune, 4th May 2023: On Maharashtra Day, celebrated on May 1, only 200 employees attended the event organized by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), as many employees considered the day a holiday. Angered by their absence, the Municipal Commissioner has issued orders to take action against the 2,300 absent employees.
Expressing frustration at the situation, the commissioner noted that while there is no shortage of people taking time off on days of responsibility, such as election days, there seems to be a perception that Maharashtra Day is a day for fun and wandering without voting.
The absenteeism has caused significant disruption, and swift action is necessary to ensure accountability among employees. The move has caused excitement among the employees, who now face disciplinary action for their absence.
