Maharashtra: 16 Labourers Killed In A Truck Accident In Jalgaon District, 5 Injured

Jalgaon, February 15, 2021: Today 16 people were killed when a truck overturned on Chopda-Yawla Road. All the deceased were labourers from Ambhode, Karhale and Raver in Jalgaon district’s Raver taluka.
Police said that all died due to the overturning of a truck loaded with papaya at midnight near Kingaon village. Police said the five labourers sustained serious injuries and were being treated at a rural hospital.
According to police, the accident happened around 1 am today when the driver of the speeding truck tried to skip a pit on the road. The papaya laden truck was heading to the market. The labourers were sitting on the papaya.
The names of those who died in the accident are as follows –
1) Sheikh Hussain Sheikh Muslim Manyar (30 years)
2) Sarfaraz Kasam Tadvi (32 years)
3) Narendra Waman Wagh (25 years)
4) Dingbunar Madhav Sapkale (55 years)
5) Dildar Hussain Tadvi (20 years)
6) Sandeep Yuvraj Bhalerao (25 years)
7) Ashok Jagan Wagh (40 years)
8) Durgabai Sandeep Bhalerao (20 years)
9) Ganesh Ramesh More (5 years)
10) Sharda Ramesh More (15 years)
11) Sagar Ashok Wagh (3 years)
12) Sangeeta Ashok Wagh (35 years)
13) Sumanbai Shalik Ingle (45 years)
14) Kamalabai Ramesh More (45 years)
15) Sabnoor Hussain Tadvi (53 years)
Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the incident and tweeted, “Heart-wrenching truck accident in Jalgaon, Maharashtra. Condolences to the bereaved families. May the injured recover at the earliest.”
