Mahadev Betting App Scam In Pune: 452 Bank Accounts Under Scrutiny

Pune, 17th May 2024: Crores of rupees have been traced to 452 bank accounts associated with online betting activities through the Mahadev Betting App. A case has been filed against 93 individuals in connection with this illegal operation, with 88 suspects remanded to judicial custody. Authorities suspect that the accused may have funneled the gambling proceeds overseas.

Addressing a press conference, Superintendent of Police (Pune Rural) Pankaj Deshmukh said that online betting was being conducted via the Mahadev Betting App in Narayangaon. Acting on this information, a joint team comprising Pune Rural Police’s Local Crime Branch and Khed sub-divisional police officer conducted a raid on a call centre in the area on Wednesday. As a result of the operation, Kunal Bhat, Amjad Khan, Yash Chauhan, Sameer Yunus Pathan, and Rashid Kamal Rafi have been apprehended. The police also seized 45 laptops, 89 mobile phones, and 452 bank passbooks amounting to Rs. 62,74,000 from the call centre premises.
