A case of examination irregularity of Kumari Saloni Joshi, astudent of Vikram University came up before the Chancellor and Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel on November 29. Taking cognizance, the Governor immediately got her result corrected providing relief to the girl and her family within 24 hours.

Kumari Saloni came to meet the Governor on November 29 along with her father Shri Mukesh Joshi. She told the Governor that she was a B.Sc student of Government Girls College under Vikram University. She informed that she had passed five semesters in higher first class, but in the 6th semester she got only 5 marks in Mathematics and she was declared fail.

Kumari Saloni told the Governor that she was disappointed with the result. On checking the copy on the website of Vikram University, it was discovered that the evaluator had given her 5 marks after checking only B section of her answer sheet. The A and C sections were not checked at all. Kumari Saloni put forward her application in the university and said that her copy should be re-checked. But the University responded saying the University had no such provision of re-evaluation.. Kumari Saloni sought the photocopy of her answer sheet under RTI, which was not given to her. On appealing to the State Information Commission, she got a copy of the answer sheet, after which it became clear that the answer sheet had not been fully evaluated.

A disappointed Saloni knocked at the door of Raj Bhavan. The Governor, who was distressed by this development, instructed the Vice Chancellor of Vikram University to present the exact status within 24 hours. On November 30, Kumari Saloni got her corrected result, in which she secured 56 marks instead of five and was declared first class pass. The Professor of Mathematics department has been blacklisted for three years from evaluation work. Saloni is satisfied and happy with the prompt action taken by the Governor.
