Long Traffic Jam Due To Landslide Leaves Travellers Without Food and Water for Hours on Pune-Mumbai Expressway
Pune 24th July 2023: The travellers on Pune-Mumbai Expressway had a though time on Sunday as three lanes of the roads towards Mumbai were closed for over five hours after a landslide incident reported near Adhoshi tunnel. Though the road was cleared later by the traffic department and local agencies, the movement of vehicles was slow even in the morning causing more inconvenience to the commuters.
Many of those who were travelling on Expressway have complained that they were left without food and water for hours. “Pune Mumbai expressway totally jammed our children are starving. Request traffic police to look into this or atleast make providing U Turn” one of the Twitter user shared.
“Pune – Mumbai Expressway Jam since last 2 hours. More then 10 kms. Stuck just after turning to expressway from Pune on the way to Mumbai” another user tweeted at around 5:40 am.
“Landslide near Lonavla brings entire Pune Mumbai expressway to a grinding halt since early morning. Colleague stuck since 5am. Those travelling to Mumbai airport to catch international flights are in trouble” another user shared at 7:35 am.
It may be noted that three lanes of the expressway were closed for traffic movement after a landslide reported near Adhoshi village at around 10:35 pm on Sunday. The local agencies were rushed to the spots with JCB machines, Dumped trucks to remove the debris and the traffic movement was diverted from the old Pune-Mumbai Highway. Hovewer, many vehicles remained stuck on the expressway for hours as the officials took over five hours to clear the debris from the road.
