Lifeguards and Firefighters Save Man After River Jump at Pune’s Thosarpaga Ghat
Sadashiv Peth, 12th September 2024: A swift rescue operation took place today at Thosarpaga Ghat when a man jumped into the river at around 3 PM. Fire brigade personnel, stationed at various ghats as part of the Ganesh festival security, immediately sprang into action upon receiving the alert.
Firefighters Jitendra Kumbhar and Shailesh Davene, along with lifeguards Sandeep Shinde, Kapal Bhoite, Dattatray Chinke, and Santosh Gaikwad, were nearby when the incident occurred. The team quickly responded by throwing a life jacket, life ring, and a rope into the water. With their coordinated efforts, the man was safely pulled from the river.
Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances that led the individual to jump into the water.
