Legal Action Initiated Against Unauthorized Schools in Pune District, Check Details Here

Pune, 24th July 2024: In Pune District, 49 schools are unauthorized. The Pune Zilla Parishad has closed down 13 of these schools within their jurisdiction. Cases have been filed against 10 of these schools, and the process of registering cases against 12 others is ongoing, as revealed by Sanjay Naikade, Primary Education Officer of the Pune Zilla Parishad.

The Pune Zilla Parishad announced the existence of 49 unauthorized schools in the district, some of which are in rural areas while some are under the jurisdiction of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). After publishing the list of these unauthorized schools, the Education Department of the Pune Zilla Parishad started taking stringent action against those not complying with the closure orders. This action was taken under the orders of Pune Zilla Parishad CEO Santosh Patil.

Out of the 49 schools, 13 have been closed down. Five schools have received approval, while three have obtained letters of intent from the administration. Four unauthorized schools have filed petitions in court, and 12 schools have paid the fines imposed. Cases are being registered against the remaining 12 schools.

Sanjay Naikade informed that cases have been registered against Jesus Christ English Medium School (Kamshet), Kingsway Public School (Lonavala), EMH English Medium School (Phursungi), Ramdas City School (Loni Kalbhor), Orchids – The International School (Undri), Little Star English Medium School (Chinchwad), Orchid The International School (Chinchwad), Ideal English Medium School (Pimple Gurav), Peepal Tree School (Pimple Nilakh), and Taqwa Islamic Maktab & School (Kondhwa).
