Kondhwa’s Illegal Hookah Bar Exposed, Pune Police Seize Hookahs And Tobacco Pods
Kondhwa, 11th May 2023: Acting on confirmed information, Pune City Police took swift action to raid an illegal hookah bar operating at EDP Family Restaurant near Cloud 9 area in Kondhwa on Wednesday. The operation involved officers from the Social Security Cell of the Crime Branch.
The raid, conducted under covert surveillance, uncovered individuals smoking hookah within the premises of the restaurant. The cops confiscated tobacco hookah pods, 15 hookah pots, and other materials. The seized items will serve as crucial evidence in the ongoing investigation.
A case has been registered against four persons including restaurant owner and manager under sections 4-A and 21-A of the Cigarettes and other Tobacco Products (Maharashtra Amendment) Act-2018 at Kondhwa Police Station. The investigation is currently being carried out by Kondhwa Police Station.
This operation was executed under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ramnath Pokle and DCP (Crime) Amol Zende. The team included Senior Police Inspector Bharat Jadhav, Assistant Police Inspector Anikte Pote, and police personnel Rajendra Kumawat, Baba Karpe, Tushar Bhivarkar, and Amit Jamdade.
