Kia Sonet’s New GTX Variant Launched: Price and Features Revealed

Pune, 3rd July 2024: South Korean automaker Kia has launched a new GTX variant of the Sonet, the most affordable SUV in its lineup, in the Indian market. This new model, launched in early July, features a host of impressive upgrades and is priced at ₹13.71 lakh ex-showroom. The announcement comes shortly after the introduction of the HTE(O) and HTK(O) variants in April.

The Kia Sonet GTX variant, a compact SUV, is designed to offer enhanced features and value. According to Kia, this new model includes several high-end features such as a Blind View Monitor with a 360-degree camera, front ventilated seats, an air purifier, auto headlamps, LED fog lamps, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, six airbags, a four-way electrically powered driver seat, and 16-inch crystal-cut alloy wheels.

In terms of performance, the Sonet GTX is powered by either a 1.0-liter GDI Smart Stream 7DCT engine or a 1.5-liter CRDi VGT 6AT engine. It is noteworthy that this variant is only available with automatic transmission, as Kia has not provided a manual transmission option for this model.

Safety is a priority for the Sonet GTX, which includes numerous safety features such as Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Brake Assist System (BAS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Assist Control (HAC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), front dual airbags, front side airbags, side curtain airbags, ISOFIX child anchors, all-seat belt reminders, speed-sensing auto door lock, rear parking sensors, front parking sensors, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), disc brakes on all wheels, Level-1 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), and Low Vehicle Distance Alert (LVDA).

The Sonet GTX variant is strategically positioned between the HTX+ and GTX+ variants, offering a competitive edge in the compact SUV segment. This latest addition to Kia’s portfolio is expected to attract significant interest from consumers looking for a blend of luxury, performance, and safety at an attractive price point.
