Khadakwasla, 25th October 2024: The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has nominated Mayuresh Wanjale, son of the late MLA Ramesh Wanjale, as its candidate for the Khadakwasla Constituency in Pune District for the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections.

The Wanjale family has secured a nomination after 12 years. In 2009, Ramesh Wanjale was elected as the MLA of Khadakwasla for the first time but passed away just months later. Following his death, his wife contested the by-elections representing the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Now, after 12 years, the MNS has once again placed its trust in the Wanjale family.

Mayuresh Wanjale, aged 27, is somewhat of a rebel within his family, as his mother and sister are affiliated with Ajit Pawar’s NCP, while he is with Raj Thackeray’s MNS. Wanjale has pledged to tackle the major issue of unemployment in his constituency by establishing a Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).

He stated, “Right now, the biggest problem is unemployment. I want an MIDC in my constituency. In Khadakwasla, there are so many young people. They have to go to Hinjawadi or Chakan for employment. I want an MIDC here so the youth and their futures are secured with enough opportunities.”
