Katra/New Delhi, 23rd April 2025: In a swift move to address transportation challenges faced by stranded passengers due to recent disruptions, authorities have launched a special train from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi (SMVD) Katra to New Delhi. This initiative aims to manage the extra rush of travelers and ensure their safe return.

Train number 04612 will depart from SMVD Katra at 9:20 PM, with subsequent halts at Udhampur at 9:48 PM and Jammu at 11:00 PM. The train is scheduled to reach New Delhi at 9:30 AM the following day.

Tickets for this special service will be available over the counter at Katra, Udhampur, and Jammu railway stations, providing easy access for affected passengers.

The move comes in the wake of traffic disruptions caused by weather-related blockages, particularly on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. Although the highway at Ramban has been restored for one-way traffic, many travelers remain stranded in Jammu and Kashmir.
