Satara, 16th October 2024: As the vibrant bloom at the Kas Plateau, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, begins to dwindle, the Satara Forest Department and the Kas Plateau Executive Committee have decided to end online bookings for the popular flower festival. The festival, which started in early September, is now nearing its conclusion.

While online reservations have been halted, visitors can still purchase tickets on-site until the weekend. The entry fee has also been reduced to Rs 50 per person, down from the previous Rs 150.

Dattatray Kirdat, the deputy head of the Kas Plateau Executive Committee, explained the decision, saying, “The flower festival at Kas Plateau started on September 5th and will likely wrap up within the next four to five days. We’ve closed online bookings as of Wednesday, but visitors can still gain direct entry. This year, the bloom was exceptional, and we saw a significant number of visitors enjoying the site.”

The forest department has also advised visitors to avoid bringing pets to ensure an undisturbed experience for all as the flower festival comes to a close.
