Mumbai, 14th August 2023: Kangana Ranaut is set to grace the screen once again in the upcoming film “Chandramukhi 2.” The film’s creators recently unveiled the initial song, titled “Swagathaanjali,” composed by MM Keeravaani. In this musical piece, Kangana is elegantly draped in a white saree adorned with delicate pink accents, paired harmoniously with opulent gold jewellery. Despite the song garnering substantial attention, the actress found herself subjected to substantial online criticism for her rendition of the Bharatnatyam dance within the song.

Numerous users took to the microblogging platform X to express their reservations about Kangana’s dance performance. One individual opined, “The portrayal doesn’t quite suit her; she resembles a regular Bollywood heroine rather than being fitting.” Another user echoed this sentiment, stating, “Kangana Ranaut may be a proficient actor, but her dancing skills are unquestionably lacking! I mean, what on earth is this?” Similarly, an additional comment read, “As someone who has undergone nearly 17 years of classical dance training, observing Kangana’s snippet from Chandramukhi 2 is quite disheartening.”

Yet, among the critiques, some of the actress’s fervent admirers came forward to defend her. One supporter proclaimed, “Oh my goodness, Kangana Ranaut’s performance was exceptional. Her level of performance is unparalleled (following the likes of Sridevi, Rekha, Madhuri, and Madhubala), solidifying her status as the reigning queen of Hindi cinema. A resounding round of applause for the #chandramukhi2 team.” Another comment conveyed, “Let’s take a moment to appreciate this remarkable lady. She effortlessly embodies each character she portrays, surpassing even the legendary actors of the industry.”

Directed by P Vasu, “Chandramukhi 2” is a captivating blend of horror and comedy, slated for release this September. In this sequel to the immensely successful Tamil blockbuster, Kangana will grace the screen as a dancer in a royal court. The film is brought to life by the creative efforts of Lyca Productions and Subaskaran. Alongside Kangana, the film showcases the talents of Srushti Dange, Lakshmi Manon, Radhika Sarathkumar, Mahima Nambiar, Rao Ramesh, and Vignesh in pivotal roles. The eagerly awaited “Chandramukhi 2” is set to grace the silver screen on September 19th.
