Pune, 25th February 2024: Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) Kamala Nehru Hospital is set to reopen a dialysis centre, with the service expected to commence in the upcoming month. The PMC health department provided this information, noting that the reintroduction of this facility aims to alleviate inconvenience for patients.

Previously, a private organization operated a dialysis centre at the hospital, but irregularities in its day-to-day operations led to the termination of the arrangement. Consequently, dialysis services were discontinued. In response to PMC’s tender process, seven companies expressed interest, with THS offering the lowest rate. The PMC has decided to collaborate with THS to reinstate the dialysis centre.

The dialysis unit will occupy 2 thousand square feet in Kamla Nehru Hospital, and an intensive care unit will be attached to it. The organization will be granted a 10-year tenure, with the possibility of two additional extensions of 10 years each. While the PMC will not charge rent for the space, the organization is responsible for establishing all necessary systems, including staff and machinery.
