Kadhe , Bhosale to lead Maharashtra Tennis team for Gujarat National Games
Pune, September 22, 2022: International players Arjun Kadhe and Rutuja Bhosale will lead the Maharashtra Mens and Women’s Tennis team for the National Games that will be played at the Sabarmati Front Tennis Complex at Ahmedabad from September 28 to October 5 , 2022.
The highlight of the team will be the debut of 14 year old Manas Dhamne who will be part of the Mens team .
We have selected under 18 National Champions Vaishnavi Adkar , Sandesh Kurale or Kolhapur in the team .
We are going with youth and experience and hope to build a strong Maharashtra team for the present and future said Sunder Iyer Hon Secretary of MSLTA.
Maharashtra team will participate in seven out of seven events including Mens and womens team events , Mens and womens Singles and Doubles and the Mixed Doubles event.
In the last National Games at Kerala Maharashtra won 1 Silver and 2 Bronze medals and we would like to better that performance, Iyer added.
Apart from Kadhe , the Mens team consists of Anvit Bendre Manas Dhamne, Sandesh Kurale and Atharva Sharma. While the womens team consist of Bhosale , Akanksha Nitture Vaishnavi Adkar , Ruma Gaikaiwari. and Ishwari Matere.
Former ATP ranked player and now coach Navdip Singh of Mumbai has been appointed as the Mens Coach while Sheetal Bhonsale of Kolhapur has been appointed as Manager of the Mens team while Coach of the Indian Junior girls team Namita Bal of Pune has been appointed as the Womens coach , Himanshu Gosavi of Pune will accompany the team as the manager , Ms Apurva Kulkarni will be traveling as the Team Physio
