Pune, 11th September 2024: Maratha Reservation activist Manoj Jarange Patil is planning to go on another hunger strike, this time without any time limit. Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment and President of the Republican Party of India – Athawale (RPI-A), Ramdas Athawale, has urged Jarange Patil not to issue threats to the government.

Athawale, who was on a tour of Pune yesterday, made these remarks while speaking to reporters. Manoj Jarange Patil announced yesterday that he will begin his hunger strike at midnight on September 16th in Antarwali Sarati.

When asked about Jarange Patil’s announcement of another hunger strike, Ramdas Athawale responded, “In the Lok Sabha elections, we faced setbacks due to the Maratha reservation issue. The Maratha community deserves reservation, and I was the first to make this demand. The Maharashtra State Government has already granted a 10% reservation to the Maratha community. Instead of repeatedly threatening hunger strikes, Jarange Patil should cooperate with the government.”
