IRCTC’s Tatkal Booking Faces Outage; Users Complain As Many Services Are Down
New Delhi, 4th March 2023: People are having trouble booking their tickets online because the IRCTC website seems to be down. Many expressed their worries on Twitter and other social media sites as soon as they learned about the outage on the IRCTC app and the official website.
Most people saw the error on the IRCTC website when attempting to book their railway tickets via the Tatkal service.
Tatkal bookings are last-minute reservations made just two days before the trip. Online reservations are available for AC class (2A/3A/CC/EC/3E) starting at 10:00 a.m., and for non-AC class (SL/FC/2S) starting at 11:00 a.m.
On Friday (March 3), while people were attempting to book tickets and use the Tatkal booking service, a portal problem caused them to rage about the situation. During this festival season, many users reported trying to log in and book tickets but being unable to do so due to an unexpected issue.
In the meantime, the hashtags #Tatkal and #irctc became the top trends on Twitter.
