Pune, May 22: Intervalve Poonawalla Limited, a Poonawalla Group entity that is known for being a one stop solution for flow, pressure control and valve automation has expanded its manufacturing base in Pune. A new manufacturing facility has come up next to the existing one at Hadapsar and shall undertake the production of bigger size Ball Valves in soft and metal seat variants apart from Gate Globe Check Valves & Scotch Yoke Actuators.
Commenting on this expansion Yohan Poonawalla, Chairman and Managing Director of the Poonawalla Group of Engineering Companies said, “We decided to expand our manufacturing base to add new products to our product line in this category. Especially, products like Metal Seated Ball Valves for petrochemicals and oil refineries, Large Size Ball Vales up to 42” for specialized applications and Gate Globe Check Valves.”
“The new plant would have a world class assembly and testing facility for Valves. These products would address wider range of products coupled with system integration with actuators for greater automation, which would take us further from being a one stop solutions provider to a single source responsibility for our existing and new customers”, he added.
The new plant is spread across 35000 square feet and houses a state-of-the-art facility for pressure test, hydro test, fire safety test and cycle test. The installed manufacturing capacity of the new plant is about 10000 (Ten thousand) valves per month.
In near future, the Poonawalla Group of Engineering Companies is planning to get into the manufacturing of Skid for industrial and natural gas segments. Skid is an integration of valves, actuators and electronic accessories. The group is looking at manufacturing 3 types of Skids including pressure reducing skid, gas conditioning skid and gas metering skid, which would have many in-house products manufactured by the Poonawalla Group like butterfly vales, gate globe, check valves and actuators that are extensively used in industries like pharma, chemical, petrochemical, cement and steel, Oil & Gas, Power, Paper & Pulp & Sugar Mills.
