International Women’s Day Celebrated at Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate

Pune, 19th March 2025: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate, in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Hope for the Children Foundation (HFCF), and Alleima India Private Limited, celebrated International Women’s Day at the Police Headquarters.

The celebration, aimed at recognizing the invaluable contributions of women police officers in ensuring public safety, was graced by Hon’ble Principal District & Sessions Judge Mahendra Mahajan and Sonal Patil, Secretary of DLSA, as chief guests. A total of 41 female police officers were honored for their dedicated service to the Sakhi Suraksha initiative, a key program enhancing women’s safety in the region.

Launch of Sakhi Suraksha SOP Booklet

The event launched the Sakhi Suraksha SOP Booklet, a comprehensive guide designed to empower women with legal knowledge and support mechanisms.“The collective efforts of law enforcement and civil society organizations are essential in safeguarding women’s rights and well-being. This booklet serves as a crucial tool for legal awareness,” said Judge Mahajan, emphasizing the importance of utilizing such resources to strengthen women’s security, urging officers to actively promote its use.

Sonal Patil further elaborated on the booklet’s contents, noting that it includes essential information on women-centric laws, government schemes, helpline numbers, and QR codes for easy access to legal aid and support services.

The event witnessed the presence of distinguished dignitaries, including Dr. Caroline Audoir de Valter, Founder, HFCF, Shakil Shaikh, Head of Programs, HFCF, DCP Vivek Patil, ACP Salvi and the Senior PI Chavan. Their collective support underscored a shared commitment to enhancing safety and security for women in society.
