India’s decisive steps in the battle against COVID-19 receives praise; Bill Gates and WHO tweet in appreciation of India

Pune, January 05, 2021: India’s steps in the war with COVID-19 are being appreciated worldwide. In this sequence, global leaders have praised the scientific initiatives being taken in India. A series of decisions are being taken to end the epidemic in India, which has been praised by Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and World Health Organization Secretary General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates tweeted on Monday, “It’s great to see India’s leadership in scientific innovation and vaccine manufacturing capability as the world works to end the COVID-19 pandemic @PMOIndia.”

In addition, the World Health Organization Secretary-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has also praised India by tweeting. He wrote, “#India continues to take decisive action & demonstrate its resolve to end #COVID19 pandemic. As the world’s largest vaccine producer it’s well placed to do so. If we #ACTogether, we can ensure effective & safe vaccines are used to protect the most vulnerable everywhere @narendramodi.”

It is worth mentioning that the world’s largest COVID-19 vaccine campaign is going to start in India. The Drug Controller General of India on Sunday approved the Oxford COVID-19 Vaccine Covishield and Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin. Covishield vaccine was manufactured by Serum Institute and Covaxin was developed indigenously by Bharat Biotech.  

Limited emergency use has been approved in the country of Oxford’s COVID-19 vaccine ‘Covishield‘ and Bharat Biotech’s indigenously developed vaccine ‘Covaxin‘ which has paved the way for a comprehensive vaccination campaign.
