Srinagar, 20th July 2024: New Delhi: In response to the infiltration of highly trained Pakistani terrorists into the Jammu region, the Indian Army is reconfiguring its deployments based on recent intelligence and evolving security needs. Approximately 500 Para Special Forces commandos have been deployed to track down 50-55 terrorists from Pakistan who have entered the region with the intent to revive terrorism.

Intelligence agencies have also enhanced their operations in the area, targeting the terrorist support network, including those who aid the terrorists. The Army has already stationed additional troops, including a brigade of about 3,500-4,000 personnel, to address Pakistan’s proxy aggression.

Military leaders are developing strategies to locate and neutralize the terrorists, who are armed with advanced weaponry and communication systems. The existing counter-terrorism framework in the region includes two Rashtriya Rifles forces—Romeo and Delta—along with other regular infantry units.
