India: Corona Vaccine’s Dry Run To Start Across The Country From January 2

New Delhi, December 31, 2020: The Government of India has decided that from January 2, a dry run of Corona vaccine will be done in every state and union territory of the country. The Health Ministry has taken this decision in a meeting today.

According to the Health Ministry, states will have to choose their two cities in the dry run. It is in these cities that the entire vaccine process will have to be carried out. Vaccination in these cities will be similar to the procedure followed throughout the state.

Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that till now such a dry run was done in four states of the country – Punjab, Assam, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh. In these states, good results have come out regarding the dry run. After this, the government has now decided to implement this dry run across the country.

The Health Secretary is holding a high-level meeting with all the states and union territories. Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan reviewed the preparations for the Covid-19 vaccination through video conferencing with several top health officials.

There was a meeting on Wednesday regarding the use of Corona vaccine. However, it was not immediately agreed to the approval during this meeting. After this meeting, the Ministry of Health said that the Subject Expert Committee held a meeting later this afternoon to consider the request of Serum Institute of India, Pfizer and Bharat Biotech Private Limited to allow emergency use of the vaccine. It said that the committee would meet again on 1 January 2021.

It is worth noting that so far 1 crore 2 lakh 66 thousand 674 cases of COVID19 have been reported in the country. Out of this, 98 lakh 60 thousand 280 people have recovered. There are only 2 lakh 57 thousand 656 active cases of corona in the country. So far 1 lakh 48 thousand 738 people have died from Corona in India.
