Islamabad, 22nd February 2022: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed his desire to have a televised debate with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to resolve disputes with India. He said that if the differences can be resolved through discussion, it will be in the interest of billions of people.

The talks between India and Pakistan have been closed for a long time due to the terrorist activities of Pakistan. But Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan has made a new move in this regard. He has expressed his desire to have a televised debate with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to resolve the issue with India. He also said that if the differences can be resolved through discussion, then it will be in the interest of the billions of people living in this sub-continent.

Before leaving for Russia, Imran Khan said in an interview to ‘Russia Today’ that I would love to debate with Narendra Modi on TV. However, there has been no response from the Government of India on this statement of Imran Khan. The Pakistani Prime Minister said that when India became an enemy country, trade with them was reduced to a minimum. Whereas the policy of my government is to maintain good trade relations with all countries.

It is noteworthy that recently, Imran’s advisor Abdul Razzaq Dawood had also expressed his desire to restore trade relations with India. He said that resuming business with India would benefit both countries. Imran Khan said that Pakistan’s regional trading options are very limited. Trade prospects are limited due to US sanctions with southwestern neighbour Iran, while Afghanistan to the west has been at war for decades.

However, Pakistan’s trade relations are very good with the neighbouring country China. He has promised to provide infrastructure worth billions of dollars to the country.

Imran Khan has given this interview before leaving for Russia on Wednesday. For the first time in the last 23 years, a Pakistani Prime Minister is visiting Russia. Imran will meet Russian President Vladimir during his two-day visit. However, analysts say that this time is not suitable for visiting Russia.

Balochistan leader Jan Achakzai says Russia did not invite Imran Khan. He is going on his own volition. Apart from this, Russia has not sought any help from Pakistan in the midst of the Ukraine dispute, nor has the US stopped Imran from going to Russia. He also says that Russia is not going to give anything to Pakistan.
