Pune, 30th May 2024: Traffic diversions have been implemented on Ganeshkhind Road to accommodate construction work for five metro stations along the Hinjawadi – Shivajinagar metro route.

As per the new arrangement, all freight vehicles, private buses, and Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) buses are required to turn left at Bremen Chowk and proceed via Dr Ambedkar Chowk. Meanwhile, two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers must turn left at ABIL House and use the Range Hills route. Consequently, the section from ABIL House to Shimla Office Chowk will be completely closed for vehicles heading towards Shivajinagar via Savitribai Phule Pune University Road.

The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has entrusted Tata Company with the construction of the metro route from Hinjawadi to Shivajinagar. To expedite the project, the administration has decided to concurrently undertake construction work for five metro stations, namely University Chowk, RBI, Agriculture College, Shimla Office, and Shivajinagar Court.

To facilitate this, traffic changes have been proposed along the route from Bremen Chowk to Shimla Office Chowk. These changes are set to be implemented from 1st June, as confirmed by Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil in the presence of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Rohidas Pawar.
