IMD predicts thunderstorm in Pune for today and tomorrow
Pune, April 30, 2020: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Pune, today issued six days weather forecast for Pune at 11.30 am. Today weather will be generally cloudy sky towards afternoon, very light to light rain, thundery activity, lightning, gusty wind very likely.
The maximum temperature today will be 40 degree Celsius while the minimum was 24.1 degree Celsius. Similar weather will be tomorrow on Friday. On May 2 Saturday, the weather will be partly cloudy sky towards the afternoon. On May 3,4 and 5, there will be a mainly clear sky.
The climate of Pune city is characterized by Hot and Dry in Summer and cool in the winter season. In summer season values of relative humidity in the afternoon and morning are about 27% & 54% respectively. During the south-west monsoon season, the skies are generally heavily clouded to overcast. In the post-monsoon season and latter part of summer, the clouding is moderate. Rest of the year skies are clear or lightly clouded.
Frequency of thunderstorm is high from April to June and least during the winter months. Thunderstorm during May is sometimes accompanied with hail. Thunderstorm from March to June and in October is sometimes accompanied with Squall. Fog occurs during the latter part of post-monsoon & Winter season & occasionally during the early part of summer. Average annual Maximum Temp is 31.7 C. Mean Maximum Temp. of Hottest Months (April & May) is about 37.3 C. Mean Maximum Temp. of Coldest Months (Jan & Dec) is about 29.7 C.
