IMD Issues Red Alert For Pune For July 26 and 27, Orange Alert For Next Two days
Pune 26th July 2023: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for the ghat areas of Pune district for today and tomorrow as extremely heavy rainfall has been predicted for these two days. IMD has also issued orange alert for the district for the next two days.
According to IMD bulletin, ‘extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places in ghat areas’ has been predicted for July 26 and 27 while ‘heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in ghat areas’ has been predicted for July 28 and 29.
The rainfall activity has increased again in several parts of Maharashtra as IMD has also issued Red alert for other districts including Ratnagiri, Raigad and Satara for July 26. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar along with Relief and Rehabilitation Minister on Wednesday will hold a review meeting with all district collectors via video conferencing on flood situation and heavy rainfall in Maharashtra.
The district administration in Ratnagiri has announced to keep the schools in their jurisdiction closed for today following the red alert issued by IMD.
