Illegal flexes to be removed by PMC Encroachment department

Pune, February 27,2020 : The ubiquouts illegal flexes, hoardings, banners to be removed by the Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) newly appointed commissioner, Shekhar Gaikwad. He has come up with an idea to tackle the issues with the illegal hoardings, banners in the city.

PMC Chief has ordered to clear the flexes and hoardings while the encroachment department is soon likely to start the work against offenders. Many politicians and people put up greetings, messages on the poles, along roads and on buildings.

So, to start with a new wave PMC Chief has decided to remove off all the illegal boards and the flexes within three days round. This will help in getting illegal boarding, Bill boards removed. To accomplish the work, sky sign department has been asked to make a complete list of illegal hoardings.

Gaikwad said, “I have been apprised of the problems and we have also received complaints on this matter although we will keep the ward offices in the loop, the prime responsibility will rest with the encroachment department. Future course of action will be decided based on the success of the drive”.

Also Qaneez Sukharani, petitioner quoted by the Pune Mirror said that shifting accountability is PMC’s classic way of washing its hands of a certain matter. I agree that the responsibility of removing the illegal items should be under one roof. However, we need to analyze how successful the encroachment department will work due to political pressure.”
