Husband Booked By Pune Police After Wife Found Pregnant
Kondhwa, 6th November 2023: A 22-year-old man has been booked by Pune City Police after it was found that his 17-year-old wife is pregnant.
A case has been registered by the Kondhwa police station under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act based on the doctor’s complaint against the husband.
The incident occurred in Shivneri Nagar, Kondhwa, between January and November 4. A case has been filed against Aftab Akrabuddin Shaikh of Kondhwa, based on a complaint lodged by Dr Unmesh Ramesh Ambhore (29) of Pune Municipal Corporation run Kamla Nehru Hospital, Mangalwar Peth.
According to the police, the accused Aftab got married in January 2023. Aftab knew that the girl was a minor at the time of marriage. However, he married her, and after the marriage, the accused had physical relations with her.
Subsequently, when the victim visited Kamala Nehru Hospital for an examination, her age was inquired, revealing that she was a minor at that time. Following this, the doctor filed a complaint against the accused husband at the Kondhwa Police Station. The case is currently under investigation by Assistant Police Inspector Kudale.
