How to Make UPI Payments Without Sharing Mobile Number
Pune, 22nd August 2024: In an increasingly digital world, making payments through Unified Payments Interface (UPI) apps has gained immense popularity among smartphone users. UPI allows for instant payments, eliminating the need for cash transactions or QR code scanning. Interestingly, users can also make payments without sharing their mobile numbers by utilizing their UPI ID. This feature allows seamless transactions with other UPI users while maintaining privacy and security.
To find your UPI ID, users can access it directly within their UPI applications. For those using Google Pay, the process is simple. Open the app, tap on the profile icon located at the top right corner and your UPI ID will be displayed below your name on the new screen. Users can easily memorize this ID for future transactions.
For PhonePe users, the method is similarly straightforward. Open the PhonePe app, tap on the profile icon in the top left corner, and your UPI ID will appear below your registered mobile number on the new screen. Keeping your UPI ID handy allows you to receive payments without the need to share your mobile number.
Once you have your UPI ID, making payments is easy. If you do not have the contact number of another UPI user, you can still complete transactions using their UPI ID. Simply open Google Pay, select the “Pay UPI ID or Number” option, and enter the ID to process the payment. On PhonePe, users will find a similar option labeled “To Bank/UPI ID.” This flexibility enhances user experience while ensuring privacy in financial transactions.
