Hero’s Iconic Karizma Makes Striking Comeback with Exciting Upgrades
1st December 2023: Between 2003 and 2004, Hero launched the Karizma bike, gaining momentary dominance in India due to its quality and appeal. Despite this, the bike faced limited sales, leading Hero Motor Corp to withdraw it from the Indian market. Fast forward to 2023, and the iconic Karizma is set to make a comeback, boasting fresh features and aesthetics. The Hero Karizma ZMR, as revealed in a video, showcases a powerful engine and a redesigned look, positioning itself as a formidable competitor in the Indian market.
Scheduled to hit Indian markets as a 210cc racing bike, the specific launch date remains undisclosed by the company. However, bike experts speculate a reintroduction between 2024 and 2025. The anticipated ex-showroom price of the Hero Karizma ZMR is Rs 1,79,900, with an expected on-road price of around Rs 2 lakh. The bike’s design is expected to turn heads with a distinctive glass steel black frame, Karizma logos on the tank, and eye-catching features like front wings that contribute to its unique appearance. The bike will be available in three color variants: red, black, and yellow.
In terms of features, the Hero Karizma ZMR is equipped with a 3-inch display and a range of functionalities including LED projector headlamp, tail headlight, LED winkers, mobile charging slot, digital speedometer, digital odometer, call alert, SMS alert, and a digital instrument console. Powering the bike is a 210cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, delivering a maximum power of 25.5 PS @9250 RPM and a torque of 20.4NM. The suspension system includes a 37mm telescopic fork at the front and a gas-charged monoshock at the rear.
The braking system is robust, featuring a 300mm dual ABS disc brake at the front and a 200mm rear disc brake. These details are derived from insights provided by bike experts. Positioned in the Indian market, the Hero Karizma ZMR is set to compete with bikes like the KTM RC 200. The revival of this legendary model is eagerly anticipated among motorcycle enthusiasts.
