Heavy Rains Force Closure of Raigad Fort For Tourists

Raigad, 8th July 2024: Due to ongoing heavy rains in the Raigad district, Raigad Fort has been closed to tourists starting today, July 8.

To ensure safety, the Chitta Darwaza and Nane Darwaza roads, which provide foot access to Raigad Fort, have been barricaded, and police arrangements are in place.

Tourists currently on Raigad Fort are being safely brought down via the ropeway. The ropeway administration has also closed the ropeway service to reach the fort, further ensuring that no new visitors can access the site during this period of heavy rainfall.
